Explore a Future in the Fire Service
The Fire Explorer Program gives young men and women ages 14–18 the opportunity to explore the fire service and gain hands-on experience in a supportive team environment.
Explorers participate in training similar to that received by volunteer firefighters, learning the fundamentals of the fire service through hands-on instruction. Training may include basic fire chemistry, hose evolutions, ladder operations, teamwork, and other essential firefighting skills.
The program is challenging and rewarding, helping Explorers build confidence, leadership, discipline, teamwork, and character while gaining a better understanding of what it takes to pursue a future career in the fire service.
