Requirements

To become a member, individuals must meet the following criteria:

• Be of legal age, 18 years or older.

• Be accepted by a company membership.

• Provide fingerprints and undergo a background check.

• Complete a physical exam to verify you meet the necessary health criteria.

• Finish the required NYS Firefighter 1 course within 18 months of joining the department.

The following criteria must be met in order to maintain an active status:

• Complete a Annual physical exam to verify you meet the necessary health criteria.. 

• Attend the minimum required amount of career offices lead drills held annually.

• Attend the minimum required amount you are eligible to attend.

• Complete the mandatory yearly courses.
